In diesem Beitrag zum 50-jährigen Jubiläum von Kunst im Traklhaus wollen wir die Möglichkeiten erkunden und abbilden, die sich aus der Verbindung von künstlerischem Schaffen, künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) und neuen Medien ergeben.
Im Mittelpunkt der Ausstellung stehen Arbeiten zeitgenössischer Künstler:innen, die KI in ihren kreativen Prozess integrieren und als Kooperationspartner nutzen.

D#AVANTGARDE und das Traklhaus laden
Künstler:innen ein, ihre Werke für die kommende Ausstellung "KI und die Kunst. Eine symbiotische Vision" einzureichen. Ziel dieser Ausstellung ist es, den kreativen Dialog zwischen Künstler:innen und KI zu erforschen und dabei klassische und neue Medien als Ausdrucksmittel zu nutzen. Rund zehn geeignete Kunstwerke sollen unter Kunst im Traklhaus ausgestellt werden, von klassischen Medien über bewegte Bilder bis hin zu interaktiven Installationen und Arbeiten aus dem Bereich Augmented Reality (AR).

Auseinandersetzung mit den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen dieser Technologie.
Kriterien für die Einreichung

Die Einreichungen sollten sich auf zeitgenössische Werke konzentrieren, die sich des Themas KI annehmen oder in denen KI als Kooperationspartner eingesetzt wird.

Die Einreichungen sollten eine schriftliche Erklärung enthalten, die das Werk und die Integration von KI in den kreativen Prozess beschreiben.

Die Künstler:innen sollten bereit sein, ihre Arbeiten unter Kunst im Traklhaus auszustellen und an Diskussionen und Veranstaltungen im Zusammenhang mit der Ausstellung teilzunehmen.

Die Einreichung kann eine Interpretation eines Werkes von Georg Trakl aus der Perspektive der Künstler:innen unter Verwendung von KI enthalten.
Honorar und Sachkosten
Die ausgewählten Positionen werden mit je 1.000 Euro Werknutzungshonorar ausgezeichnet. Darüber hinaus gibt es in Absprache ein Technik- und Sachkosten-Budget. (Liefer- und Anreise-Kosten sind nicht in dem Budget enthalten).
Auswahlverfahren
Die Einreichungen werden von einer Jury aus Kunsthistoriker:innen und Medienkunstexpert:innen bewertet.
Einreichfrist
Der Einsendeschluss für Einreichungen ist der 20.12.2023. 00.00 Uhr. Bitte nutzen Sie für Einreichungen das Online-Formular. Die Entscheidungen der Jury zu den Einreichungen werden bis spätestens 20. Februar 2024 per Mail mitgeteilt. Alle ausgewählte Künstler:innen bekommen so schnell wie möglich weiterführende Informationen.
Wir freuen uns auf innovative und inspirierende Einreichungen, um die Schnittstelle zwischen KI und Kunst zu erforschen und es dem Publikum zu ermöglichen, Kunstwerke sowohl auf analoger als auch auf digitaler Ebene zu erleben.
Diese Ausstellung wird in einer Zusammenarbeit von D#AVANTGARDE – new technology, art and creativity, der Kunst im Traklhaus und Land Salzburg veranstaltet.
In this contribution to the 50th anniversary of the Kunstraum im Traklhaus, we want to explore and map the possibilities that arise from the connection between artistic creation, artificial intelligence (AI) and new media. The exhibition will focus on works by contemporary artists who integrate AI into their creative process and use it as a cooperation partner.
Open Call:
AI and Art. A Symbiotic Vision
D#AVANTGARDE and Kunst im Traklhaus invites artists to submit their works for the upcoming exhibition "AI and Art. A Symbiotic Vision". The aim of this exhibition is to explore the creative dialogue between artists and AI, using classical and new media as means of expression. Around ten suitable artworks will be exhibited at Kunst im Traklhaus, ranging from classical media and moving images to interactive installations and works from the field of augmented reality (AR).

Submission criteria

Submissions should focus on contemporary works that address the theme of AI or in which AI is used as a collaborative partner.

Submissions should include a written statement describing the work and the integration of AI into the creative process.

Artists should be prepared to exhibit their work at Kunst im Traklhaus and to participate in discussions and events related to the exhibition.

The submission may include an interpretation of a work by Georg Trakl from the artist's perspective using AI.
Budget and costs
The selected positions will be honored with a usage fee of 1,000 Euros each. In addition, there is a technology and expenses budget to be agreed upon. (Delivery and travel costs are not included in the budget).
Selection process
The submissions will be evaluated by a jury of art historians and media art experts.
Submission deadline
The deadline for submissions is 20.12.2023. 00:00. The application needs to be done via the Online-Form.
The jury's decisions on the submissions will be communicated by e-mail by 20 February 2024 at the latest. All selected artists will receive additional information.
We look forward to receiving innovative and inspiring submissions to explore the intersection between AI and art and allow audiences to experience artworks on both analogue and digital levels.
