GENJAM: Learn. Create. Play. took place in Vienna on January 29th, 2026. hosted by Stephanie Meisl and Matt Szymanovski (https://linktr.ee/s.myselle & https://www.mattszy.com/

feat. Machine Cinema (https://machinecinema.ai/)

sponsored by LTX (https://ltx.studio/)

Machine Cinema feat LTX hit Vienna at CIMIx 2026  this year: and it was even better than we hoped.

One day. That's all it took for our amazing participants to start using LTX, the generative AI filmmaking tool, and create something special. After Matt Szymanski and Stephanie Meisl introduced everyone to Machine Cinema, genAI in film and the capabilities of LTX, the teams split up and spent the day hacking, experimenting and creating their own genAI film projects.

By the end of the day, we had a room full of wild, bold and funny films. And, of course, we held a vote for the following categories: 'Best Visuals', 'Best WTF' and 'Best Overall Film'.

Why do we do this?

GenAI in film is still in its infancy, but it's safe to assume that it's here to stay. It is slightly changing the way films are made. We are fully aware that some jobs will change, while others will emerge. However, here’s an innovative perspective: film has always relied on technology. Every invention that has made filmmaking easier? It got used. Every. Single. Time.

Knowing when and how to use them is key. We don't agree that it will replace humans. Film-making is based on human stories, intentions and creativity.

So, rather than resisting, we're getting stuck in, having fun and discovering what's possible. After all, the future doesn't just happen to us; we build it by making the best decisions and choosing the right tools.

Special thanks go to Alaysia Brown & the LTX team for making all this possible, and especially to Reanne Leuning & Aussenwirtschaft Austria for all the support and help.

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up, took the opportunity and created something unforgettable. We loved your vibes!
